VOLUNTEER WITH DAYBREAK

Volunteers Wanted

Since 1982, Daybreak Housing has been a place to call home for individuals who not only have difficulty finding affordable housing but also struggle with issues such as mental health, recovery from substance use, escaping abusive situations and limited life skills. We go beyond simply providing a physical home for our residents. Our exceptionally committed and caring staff provide individual care to our residents, which affords them the information and support they need to pursue opportunities and prepare themselves for independent living.

Daybreak is looking for volunteers, on an as needed as required basis, to enhance the capacity of our organization to support our residents.

Specifically, if you have skills, experience or interest in the following areas, and can give a few hours a month of your time for a worthy and rewarding cause, we would love to talk to you.

  • Handyperson skills, to help with minor repairs & maintenance, painting, minor plumbing, etc.

  • Dietary knowledge, to help provide residents with basic instruction on how to prepare nutritious and cost-effective meals.

  • Life skills, to assist and guide residents with basic life skills such as personal hygiene.

  • Recreation skills, to accompany residents on local walks and outings.

Even 3 or 4 hours of your time each month would be appreciated. Please contact Richard, Operations Manager at 613-236-8070, ext. 721 or richard@daybreakhousing.org.
